Louisville welcomes back the holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol, at the Actors Theatre after a six-year break.

 

This revamped adaptation by Lavina Jadhwani, under the direction of Amelia Acosta Powell and Emily Tarquin, promises a fresh take on Dickensโ€™ beloved story.

 

Showings run December 5โ€“21, 2025, at the Pamela Brown Auditorium, with ticket prices starting at $30.

 

The production also invites community members to volunteer through the Radical Hospitality program.

 

Volunteer training is set for December 7 at 10 a.m. and December 10 at 4 p.m., but spots are limited.

The University of Louisville Health is constructing a new patient care tower to improve patient care and services.

The tower is estimated to cost $220 million and will include a new emergency department, expanded operating rooms, and additional patient rooms.

Fa La La on Frankfort returns to Louisvilleโ€™s historic Frankfort Avenue on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, inviting locals to a festive, community-focused celebration.

 

Beginning at 12:30 PM with lively music from Upbeat Louisville, the event features an interactive Santa visit from 1:00 PM for kids eager to share wish lists and drop off letters.

โ„๏ธ Peppermint Hot Chocolate Dip

A quick, creamy holiday dessert dip that tastes like Christmas in a bowl!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • ยฝ cup hot chocolate mix
  • ยฝ tsp peppermint extract
  • Crushed candy canes (for topping)
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • Dippers: grahams, strawberries, pretzels, cookies, etc.

Instructions

  1. Beat cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add marshmallow fluff, whipped topping, and hot chocolate mix; blend well.
  3. Mix in peppermint extract.
  4. Spoon into a bowl and top with crushed candy canes and mini chips.
  5. Chill 30 minutes or serve immediately.
