Joke Of The Day

Why did the leaf go to the doctor?

Because it was feeling green!

Interesting Facts
  • Leaves are responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert sunlight into energy, making them essential for the survival of most plants and ultimately all living organisms.

  • The color of leaves is determined by pigments such as chlorophyll, carotenoids, and anthocyanins. These pigments absorb certain wavelengths of light while reflecting others, giving leaves their green, yellow, orange, red, and purple hues.

  • Leaves are incredibly diverse in terms of shape, size, texture, and arrangement. They can be broad and flat for capturing sunlight, needle-like for conserving moisture, or even modified into tendrils or thorns for defense or climbing. Each plant species has evolved unique leaf characteristics to maximize its chances of survival in different environments.

💡 Answer to Trivia Question:
A mature oak tree can produce over 200,000 leaves in one season.
Quote Of The Day

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus
