Under the warm afternoon sun, volunteers from the OSS Advocacy and Outreach Division, Age-Friendly Louisville, and Wesley House Community Services teamed up to revitalize the Preston Highway corridor.
Their efforts were part of the Brightside & WM Community-Wide Cleanup on October 18, 2025.
Working side by side, participants cleared litter and debris, making the neighborhood cleaner and more welcoming for everyone.
Wesley House Community Services, a trusted community anchor for over 122 years, continues to provide vital childcare and workforce programs along Preston Highway.
Neighbors are invited to join the upcoming Trunk or Treat at Feeders Supply on October 31, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.

Louisville is making major moves to tackle family homelessness with new funding and coordinated programs.
Mayor Craig Greenberg announced the city will deploy $768,250 from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund, via the Coalition for the Homeless, to secure housing and vital support services for local families in need.
The Louisville Metro Office of Social Services will direct these efforts, aiming to house at least seven families per year and provide long-term support for stability.
Multiple divisions will deliver rental assistance, case management, housing placement, and financial counseling, focusing on sustainable results.
Louisville is also expanding its fight against homelessness with initiatives like “Home for Good,” seeking to house 250 chronically homeless people by 2027, and a $650,000 Jewish Heritage Fund grant to support homeless young adults with housing and jobs.

Churchill Downs will hold its popular Trick or Treat at the Track event on Sunday, October 26, 2025, inviting families for a festive day beneath the legendary Twin Spires.
Children under 12 can explore more than 15 activity stations, including trick-or-treat candy stops, creative games, crafts, and a lively pumpkin patch.
Face painting runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., while stick horse races offer excitement from noon to 2:00 p.m.
Inflatables, oversized games like cornhole and giant Jenga, and arts and crafts spark imagination throughout the day.
Kids are encouraged to wear costumes, adding to the Halloween atmosphere as live horse races begin at 1:00 p.m.
