Louisville Parks and Recreation is calling on residents to help shape the future of Jefferson Memorial Forest through a new master plan initiative.

Mayor Craig Greenberg highlights the forest as a regional treasure, urging community voices to guide upcoming changes.

The planning process includes three stages—Discovery, Framework, and Trailhead—with the current focus on gathering ideas through local events, surveys, and listening sessions.

Residents are encouraged to complete an online survey or connect directly with city officials during public events like WorldFest on August 30 and the St. James Art Fair on October 3.

Recent investments include a $2.7 million upgrade to the Tom Wallace Recreational Area, delivering new amenities such as a nature-inspired playground and expanded walking paths.

With more than 250,000 yearly visitors, community-driven input is vital to guide future trails, restroom improvements, and more for this beloved outdoor space.
