Louisville's Holiday Season Begins as Christmas Tree Arrives at Jefferson Square Park

Louisville is embracing the holiday spirit with the arrival of its majestic Christmas tree at Jefferson Square Park.

 

This impressive 35-foot Norway Spruce, generously donated by the Russell family from the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood, now stands tall, ready to be adorned with festive decorations.

 

The city's Urban Forestry team played a pivotal role in this endeavor, overseeing the tree's selection, removal, transportation, and installation.

 

Their dedication ensures that this symbol of the season will shine brightly for all to enjoy.

 

The tree's arrival heralds the upcoming Light Up Louisville event, scheduled for Saturday, December 6, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jefferson Square Park.

 

This cherished tradition transforms downtown into a winter wonderland, featuring live entertainment, the Lots of Lights Parade, and the much-anticipated lighting of the Christmas tree.

 

Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including shopping at the Mistletoe Market, savoring treats at Frosty's Food Court, and enjoying free photos with Santa Claus.

 

New attractions this year include a video-mapping holiday show on Metro Hall and a captivating drone show, adding fresh excitement to the festivities.
