New Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster Brings Kentucky's Agricultural Heritage to Life |
Kentucky Kingdom is set to elevate family entertainment with the introduction of the Flying Fox roller coaster in 2026.
This marks the park's first new coaster since 2019 and its sixth overall, solidifying its status as the Kentucky theme park with the most roller coasters.
Designed by Vekoma, the Flying Fox is a custom suspended family coaster that offers a thrilling yet accessible experience for guests as young as 38 inches tall.
The ride spans 1,380 feet of track, reaches a maximum height of 65 feet, and accelerates up to 37 miles per hour during its 63-second journey.
Riders will embark on an adventure inspired by local legend and crop-dusting pilot, Jeb Fox, soaring over a vibrant Kentucky farmland setting.
The experience begins in a red barn-inspired queue, adorned with hand-painted murals and playful audio featuring Jeb himself, celebrating Kentucky's rich agricultural heritage.
General Manager Sarah Worrell emphasized the significance of this addition, stating, "The addition of Flying Fox is a significant milestone in our multi-year growth strategy."
She highlighted the park's collaboration with Vekoma to design a coaster that meets the highest standards for safety and fun while bringing an original story to life that resonates with the region.
The $14 million investment in Flying Fox is part of a broader $33 million commitment to the park, which includes the $8 million debut of Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom in 2024 and the opening of the $11 million family-themed Discovery Meadow in 2025.
Current passholders can secure unlimited rides on Flying Fox by renewing for the 2026 season, with pricing starting at $64.99 per pass.
New season pass sales will open to the public on November 3, 2025.
