Churchill Downs is set to host its much-anticipated Family Adventure Day on Sunday, September 21, 2025, featuring the thrilling 'Purple Takeover' theme.
Gates will open at 11:30 a.m., with the first race commencing at 12:45 p.m.
This event promises a day filled with live horse racing and over 15 engaging activities tailored for children under 12.
Attendees can look forward to face painting sessions from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., interactive sports inflatables, and obstacle courses designed to entertain and challenge young participants.
Adding to the excitement, fans will have the unique opportunity to meet and greet players from Lou City FC, fostering a deeper connection with Louisville's sports community.
In a heartwarming collaboration, Churchill Downs has partnered with Blessings in a Backpack for this event.
Guests who bring two non-perishable food items will be entered into a draw to meet the track's official bugler, Steve Buttleman.
This initiative aims to support local children in need, ensuring they have meals over the weekend.
For families planning to attend, the child ticket policy is as follows: General Admission allows free entry for up to two children per paying adult (18+ with valid ID).
Additional children will require a full-price ticket.
In Reserved Seating areas, children under 2 may attend for free if held by an adult; those aged 2ā12 will need a child's or full-price ticket if a separate seat is required.
